TWO young Warrington Wolves’ Academy starlets have become the latest to benefit from a Warrington Worldwide Legacy Project grant.
Young Centre Dylan Connelly and back row forward Dylan Grant, are being tipped for the top, with the potential to make the first team as well as international honours.
Head of Youth Gary Chambers has high hopes for both young players, who he believes have the talent to become not just first-team players, but international players in the future.
Young centre Dylan Connolley, aged 17, was “poached” from Lymm Rugby Union Club and recently featured in the pre-season friendly against North Wales Crusaders.
Back Row Lucas Green aged 18 has travelled over the Pennines from Community Club Leeds Irish, who has now moved to Warrington and lives on campus.
A powerful player with and without the ball. He’s got good communication skills and looks to bring other players into the game. Very strong in contact.
Meanwhile, fundraising is ongoing to take the young Academy players on a “once in a lifetime” tour to Australia next year.
The three-week tour organised by Warrington Wolves Supporters’ Trust & SquadBuilder will be 15/10/23 to 7/11/23 and based in Sydney and Penrith including four nights in Sydney Hotel and 17 nights in self-catering accommodation.
There will be three games including Sydney Roosters and Penrith Panthers involving a touring party of 42 players and staff.
Since the end of Covid lockdown Warrington Worldwide has now handed out Legacy Project grants totalling £7,000 to various community organisations and groups across the town.
