Tumour ridden, deaf, blind and starving dog dumped on busy road!

A 14-year-old emaciated, deaf, blind, tumour-ridden, little Staffy, named Roxy has been rescued by Warrington Animal Welfare after being dumped on a busy road.

It is one of the latest heartbreaking incidents of animal cruelty, with the animal charity struggling to cope due to an increase in the volume of unwanted pets during the cost-of-living crisis.

Earlier this week an emaciated 15-month-old Oscar and 9-year-old Tinkerbelle, came into their care after being dumped out of the car by their owner from Widnes.
Following the story, they were contacted by concerned members of the public who recognised them to advise that their owner had a third dog, a senior SBT called Roxy, who hadn’t been seen for a while.

A Warrington Animal Welfare spokesperson said: “Shockingly, after some investigations, it turned out that she had also been dumped, but this time on the busy Warrington Road, in Widnes. “Luckily, despite being deaf and mostly blind Roxy managed not to get run over and was brought to Maple Vets, who appealed for their owner. She was then collected by the Dog Warden to serve her 7-days in kennels.
“Once we were aware of Roxy, we were determined to track her down to reunite her with her BFF Tinkerbell and see if we could give her a second chance. We managed to find her just before her 7-days were up and have brought her safely into our care.
“As you can see, Roxy has a large mass on her abdomen and she is seeing a specialist vet on Monday who will make the kindest decision on what should be done, so please keep her in your thoughts. But if she can be helped, we will do everything we can for her.
“She is such a lovely little girl, and we cannot believe that she, along with Oscar and Tinkerbelle were so neglected and then cruelly dumped by their so-called owner‼️
“We have passed all our information over to the RSPCA, who have opened a case.
“We are really struggling at the moment with the increased volume of unwanted pets, especially those needing special care, so please visit the website to find out how you can help – donate goods, donate money, volunteer, foster, adopt, fundraise – https://warringtonanimalwelfare.org.uk/
