Cheshire Grange’s decorations from around the World

STAFF and residents at Cheshire Grange care home, in Lymm got out the baubles and unravelled the fairy lights, ready for a whole host of Christmas celebrations.

They decorated 10 trees in total – but one was a little bit more special to the residents. The theme was “decorations from around the world.”
Last Christmas during Covid restrictions, the carers reached out to families and their friends to send in international decorations.

This year they were able to add to the tree which proudly displays baubles from places as far apart as London and Australia, Dubai and Dublin, Canada and Italy.
Residents and visitors loved looking at the tree – donated by Robert and Louise from Grappenhall Christmas Trees – and talking about places they’ve visited.
General manager Dawn Holsgrove Smith said: “Christmas is such a magical time and our residents love nothing better than to help decorate their home for the festive season,
reminiscing about many Christmas past. It is so special to be able to share these rituals and we all love to see the home decorated and filled with Christmas spirit.”

Norma, a resident at Cheshire Grange said: “It takes me back to my childhood when the whole family used to decorate the tree together with all kinds of different home-made baubles and paper chains, it was always such a special time. I just love to see all the Christmas lights up, if I had my way we’d never take them down!”
If anyone is on their travels and spots a tree decoration, bear Cheshire Grange in mind.
Cheshire Grange is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers
