Detectives investigating murder launch appeal for information

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of 31-year-old Billy Moore at Bewsey have launched an appeal for information.

Emergency services were called at around 10.44 pm on Thursday 22 December to an address in Yardley Avenue in Bewsey and Whitecross following reports that a man had sustained serious injuries.

The man, who has been named as 31-year-old Billy Moore, was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.
His next of kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.

A 44-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody and will continue to be questioned following extra time being granted by Magistrates Court.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Waller said: “We are following numerous lines of enquiry to establish what led to Billy’s death, and you will continue to see officers in and around the Yardley Avenue area conducting house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
“At this stage we do not believe there is a wider threat to anyone else however if you have concerns please do speak to a local officer.
“I would ask anyone with any information, no matter how big or small, to get in touch as it could assist us with our investigation.”
