VIDEO: Warrington Foodbank has launched its annual Toy Appeal, linking up with other toy appeals across the town – with the aim of ensuring no child is left behind this Christmas.
David McDonald CEO of Warrington Foodbank launched the Toy Appeal in a special unit in Golden Square, Warrington, with the town’s Mayor Cllr Jean Flaherty.
The Foodbank has teamed up with Cllr Flaherty via Friends of St Elphins, Warrington Wolves and Warrington Youth Zone, with the aim of ensuring every child in need or crisis, does not go without a present at Christmas.
It follows on from the success of a school uniform swap shop opening up at the Foodbank’s store in Golden Square.
Cllr Flaherty said: “Everybody working together is better than one person working on their own. This shop has been pulled together in a week and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Warrington Foodbank for their help and support.”
Toys can be dropped off at the customer service desk at Golden Square or at the Foodbank premises.
As well as toys there is also a need for new pajamas and hats.
Warrington Foodbank & @GoldenSquareUK have launched their Christmas Toy Appeal. Donations of toys, books and gifts for children and teenagers, can be dropped off ASAP at @GoldenSquareUK or @WarringtonFB, to allow time for the Foodbank elves to sort them out 🙏 #foodbank pic.twitter.com/pHTc7e85Fp
