CAIRO Street Unitarian Chapel in Warrington town centre, is taking part in the National Heritage Open Days.

The Chapel will be open on Saturday 17th September from 10am until 4pm and on Sunday 18th September from 12pm until 4pm.

Cairo Street is the oldest dissenting Chapel in Warrington and has a wealth of history connected with the town. William and Ann Robson with many other members of the congregation established the Warrington Anti-Slavery Society and an Obelisk in their memory is located in the Chapel gardens. There are many monuments in the Chapel and gardens to the Gaskell and Monks families.
The well-maintained gardens are an inner sanctuary in the centre of Warrington.

Visitors are welcome to walk around the gardens and burial grounds.

Refreshments will be available during the Open Days and a plant store will be selling a variety of plants including homegrown Crinodendron plants.
