One week road closure at Winwick for highway survey works

THERE will be a one-week road closure at Winwick next month for highway survey works to be undertaken on Parkside Road and Winwick Lane.

The closures will take place from 7pm until 6am to reduce the impact on traffic.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Parkside Road from its junction with Golborne Road to the Borough Boundary with St. Helens; Winwick Lane from its junction with M6 junction 22 to the Borough Boundary with St. Helens.

The Order will be effective from 6th June 2022 for 1 week, between the hours of 7pm and 6am, as and when signed on site. The closures will be implemented in phases with only one phase in operation at any time as follows: Phase 1 Parkside Road; Phase 2 Winwick Lane. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be: Parkside Road via Newton Road, Mill Lane, Southworth Lane and vice versa; Winwick Lane via Winwick Link Road, Newton Road, Mill Lane, Southworth Road, Newton Road and vice versa.
The closures are required to allow for highway survey works to be undertaken.
