MP to host Warrington Training Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair

WARRINGTON South MP Andy Carter will be hosting a free training, apprenticeship and jobs fair at the town’s Parr Hall on Friday, April 29, from 10am-3pm.

Mr Carter said: “I am delighted to be hosting this free event, which is open to anyone and I really hope it will become an annual event in the town.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet major local employers, or to find out how you can earn at the same time as learning. I know many students have already booked in but it’s open to parents wanting advice about apprenticeships, anyone looking to change jobs and people getting back into work.

“I have organised this event because finding a fulfilling and worthwhile career can be life changing. Supporting young people into work is my driving passion in politics. I have long believed that a strong economy and a decent society come from ensuring everyone gets a fair crack at the whip. And that means spreading opportunity to all, wherever they’re brought up in Warrington South.

“When it comes to getting on in life, there are two key drivers: a good education and a good job. Those are the factors that allow people who are prepared to put in the hard yards to improve their and their families’ lives.

“We have fantastic schools and excellent teachers in Warrington South, and it’s good news that the we’ve seen a better funding settlement for both primary and secondary schools in the area. We’re seeing improvements to facilities like Great Sankey High and Bridgwater High with more to come. We’ve also used part of the £21m Town Deal fund secured from this Government to create new skills hubs in the town to better invest in our needs for health and social care.

“On opportunities to find good jobs, we are seeing Warrington’s labour market surge back after the horrors of the pandemic. As well as the logistics sector, we’re seeing a strong growth in high tech engineering and nuclear, plus, local employers from United Utilities to Novellis are recruiting.

“So, if you, or someone you know, might benefit from seeing what’s on offer do come along on 29th April. It could be life-changing!”

The event is ticket only, which you can register for free at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/warrington-training-apprenticeship-and-jobs-fair-tickets-226862300247
