PLANS have been submitted for 143 homes on land adjoining the Bridgewater Canal at Lymm.

The outline application by Bellways Homes involves the former Tanyard Farm, off Rushgreen Road and is Phase 2 of the company’s existing adjacent development, already at an advanced stage of construction.

It comes alongside another application for permission to demolish an existing building in Rushgreen Road to provide access to the site and a proposed two-storey building for a primary health care facility.

The outline application envisages 143 homes, the majority of which would be two-storey. But there would be a number of two-and-a-half storey houses and three-storey apartment block.

The apartments would be a mix of one and two-bedrooms and the houses would be a mix of two, three, four, and five bedrooms. The proposals will now be considered by Warrington Borough Council’s planning department.

Permission for the first phase of the development was granted on appeal. It includes an area of public open space which would be adjacent to the second phase.

The proposed development would include a number of homes which will overlook the Bridgewater Canal and open land beyond.
