FIRE crews were called out to tackle two car fires at Grappenhall and Stockton Heath last night and a malicious garden fire at Lymm.
At around 18:52 Firefighters, police and an ambulance attended at Hunts Lane, Grappenhall, following reports of a car fire. Road closures were put in place while firefighters dealt with the incident.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out a car blaze. Nobody was trapped in the vehicle but the driver was assessed by the ambulance service as a precaution.
Meanwhile at the same time on nearby Ackers Lane, Stockton Heath, four fire crews attended another car fire, with reports of people trapped.
The car was heavily involved in fire. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out the blaze. Although the incident was initially reported as people being in the vehicle, there were no casualties. Crews were at the scene for around 30 minutes.
Earlier in the evening shortly after 18;00 one fire crew attended a garden fire on Whitbarrow Road, Lymm.
The fire involved a large quantity of garden waste which is believed to have been started maliciously. The crew used a hose reel jet and a stack drag to put out the flames. The fire covered around 10 square metres.
