Weather warning as Storm Eunice heads our way

RESIDENTS of Warrington are being warned to expect “extremely strong winds” when #TwoStorms, Eunice and Dudley hit the UK this week.

A yellow weather warning for strong gusts of wind has been issued by the Met Office.

The warning follows a similar one for Storm Dudley is expected to hit northern most areas of England and Scotland from Wednesday afternoon.

Storm Eunice is expected to bring very strong winds that could cause “significant disruption.”

There is said to be a small chance of a danger to life from flying debris, falling trees and damage to roofs and power lines.

There is also a possibility for snow and blizzard conditions, although this is more likely further north.

But most places will be hit by heavy rain.

The Met Office forecast for Warrington for the rest of the week is:

Tonight:
Becoming dry and cold this evening with skies clearing. Temperatures rising later overnight as strengthening winds and heavy rain arrives, this briefly preceded by some snow over the northern Pennines. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Tuesday:
A wet start to the day with rain and any hill snow soon clearing during the morning. Much drier and brighter conditions following by the afternoon. Remaining breezy. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Mild and very windy on Wednesday with widespread gales and occasional rain. Bright spells and showers on Thursday before further rain, very strong winds and possible snow on Friday.
