Hospital death toll reaches 600 as four more COVID-19 related deaths confirmed as infection rates continue to fall

FOUR more COVID-19 related deaths were sadly reported at Warrington hospital over the weekend taking the death toll to 600 since the start of the pandemic, although infection rates are continuing to fall in the town

A total of 348 (198) new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 56,916 (56,568).

Infection rates over a seven-day period have fallen to 2,609 (3,054) – 1,246 (1,458.5) per 100,000 population but are still above the national average of 1,082.7 (1,240.1) per 100,000, which have fallen again over a seven day period.

While four more deaths occurred over the weekend, inpatient numbers fell from 87-77, while 19 patients were discharged.
