Road resurfacing set to start on A49 Winwick Road area

ROAD resurfacing works are set to start in and around the A49 Winwick Road areas of town on Monday, January 24.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is as follows: –

Temporary Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: From A49 Winwick Road for 50 metres along the following lengths of road: Birch Avenue; Poplars Avenue (Winwick Road to Lancing Avenue); A49 Winwick Road from the roundabout at M62 Junction 9 to the roundabout at Cromwell Avenue/Sandy Lane West.

Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads in Burtonwood & Winwick) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) Consolidation Order 2018 in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 – 7.5T Weight Limit as follows: Entire lengths of road: Watery Lane; Hollins Lane; Mill Lane between Watery Lane and the north western end of Calver Road.

The Order will be effective from 24th January 2022 for 7 weeks between 7pm and 1am, when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via A49 Newton Road, Hollins Lane, Watery Lane, Mill Lane, Calver Road and Cromwell Avenue. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
