Planning chiefs asked to turn back the clock

A TERRACED house in central Warrington which was split into two properties some years ago will revert to a single property if planning chiefs give the go-ahead.

The property is in Hanover Street, close to Palmyra Square, and is in a conservation area.

Currently, the property is a flat and a three-bed house-in-multiple-occupation (HMO). But applicant Dan Timony wants to convert it to an eight-bed house-in-multiple- occupation.

A report to planning officers states that the existing HMO is in good condition and tenanted.

The scheme would involve a new rear dormer window which would allow an additional bedroom to be created in the roof space. But the dormer would not be visible from Hanover Street or other nearby roads.

The property is close to several bus routes and is a five-minute walk from Bank Quay Station.

An agent for the applicant says the proposals would not have an adverse impact on the street scene, nor the wider area.
