POLICE have been back on patrol in Birchwood Forest Park following reports of further vandalism at the ranger centre with damage being caused to lights and various other parts of the building in recent days.

The building was only recently re-opened following a major refurbishment.

Commenting on the vandalism local PCSO Stefan Titans, who returned to the centre this evening following further reports of vandalism, said: “This is entirely unacceptable, as this clearly will have an impact on the people working there.
“We will be patrolling around the park at relevant times in response to this.
“Please remember to report such activity to us on 101, or 999 if it’s an emergency.”

The Birchwood Forest Park Ranger Centre, changing room facilities and café re-opened at the end of October following a full refurbishment.

The 40-year-old building, which is ideally located next to the children’s play area, officially re-opened to residents and sports teams.

Works were carried out to improve the shower and changing facilities, refurbish the toilets, which includes the provision of a new accessible toilet and baby change facility, replace the kitchen, and revitalise the public and office spaces.
