Six arrested on suspicion of violent disorder at Villaggio Hotel

POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after six people were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following a disturbance at the Villaggio Hotel last night.

Shortly before 10.45pm on Friday 26 November police were called to the Villagio Hotel in Folly Lane, Warrington.

Officers arrived at the scene within minutes to find a disturbance involving a number of people inside the building.

Officers swiftly dispersed the group and arrested six people – 3 men and 3 women aged between 20 and 30-years-old – on suspicion of violent disorder. Four of those people were also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

They are currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.

At this stage there are no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Lee Hillyard, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident. I would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward. If you witnessed the disturbance or have any information, which could assist the investigation, then please do get in touch.”
