Firefighters tackle two deliberate wheelie bin fires including one on skate park

FIREFIGHTERS were called out twice yesterday evening to tackle suspected arson incidents involving wheelie bins on Orford Park, including one set alight on the skate park.

The first incident took place at 18:25 firefighters from Warrington used an extended hose reel jet to extinguish a wheelie bin fire at the park on Alder Lane.
The crew was detained at the incident for around 20 minutes.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire police on 101, or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tua, quoting IML 1116106.
Less than an hour later a 19:14 firefighters were back at the park and used a water backpack to extinguish a wheelie bin which was well alight at the skate park.
The crew was detained at the incident for around 15 minutes.
