Firefighters called out to tackle two deliberate bin fires

FIRE crews were called out to tackle two bin fires which are believed to have been deliberately started, one at Culcheth and the other in Warrington town centre.

The first incdent was shortly after 6.15pm on Saturday evening when firefighters from Birchwood were informed of a fire involving a bin in a park in Shaw Street, Culcheth.
On arrival the bin was smouldering. Firefighters used water to fully extinguish the fire and make the bin safe. They were in attendance for less than 15 minutes.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Then at 18:42 firefighters from Warrington were notified of an outside fire in Palmyra Square South, Warrington.
On arrival, the crew discovered that it was a bin fire.
Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for around five minutes.
The fire is suspected to have been started deliberately.
