AN intruder was caught going equipped for theft on the Fiddlers Ferry power station site where demolition works are underway.
Following a police investigation and as part of ongoing work to support SSE and security at the Fiddlers Ferry power station, one male has been charged for going equipped for theft.
Officers from the local beat team will continue to support and maintain visibility at this location which remains private land.
Police have made it clear on numerous occasions that cable theft and illegally entering Fiddlers Ferry Power Station is extremely dangerous and persons engaging in such activity are literally putting their lives at risk.
Although now closed, parts of the power station are still live and one wrong move can have fatal consequences.
The site has now been decommissioned and is set to be included in the Draft Local Plan for future development.
