No new deaths but COVID-19 rates and inpatient numbers continue to rise as 124 cases confirmed

WHILE no new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported inpatient numbers and infection rates in Warrington have both risen again with 124 new cases confirmed in the town.

The 124 (97) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 29,644 (29,520).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again to an average of 615 (598) – 293.7 (285.6) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain below the national average of 350.9 (341.5) per 100,000, which have also risen again.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 34,526 new COVID-19 cases and 167 more coronavirus-related deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
There are currently 7,000 COVID patients in hospital.
Meanwhile, another 24,919 people received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine on Monday, taking the total number who have had one jab to 48,765,726 (89.7% of over-16s).
A further 33,177 had their second dose, meaning 44,799,748 are now fully vaccinated in the UK (82.4%).
Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 136,375 people have died in the UK within 28 days of a positive COVID test, government data shows.
