One more COVID-19 related death as inpatient numbers and infection rates also rise in Warrington

ONE more COVID-19 patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital over the weekend while inpatient numbers and infection rates have both risen again.

The 97 (117) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 29,520 (29,423).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again to 598 (567) – 285.6 (270.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain below the national average of 341.5 (332.1) per 100,000, which have also risen again.

Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 37,960 coronavirus cases and a further 40 related deaths in the latest 24-hour period.
Meanwhile, another 14,120 people have received a first dose of a vaccine, taking the total number of people to have had one jab to 48,736,534. And a further 24,851 people had their second doses, bringing the number of fully vaccinated people in the UK to 44,764,324.
The latest data comes as families who have lost loved ones to COVID-19 are set to meet Boris Johnson in Downing Street, where they will press him to “immediately” begin a public inquiry into his government’s handling of the pandemic.
