Lymm escape relegation – but Appleton to go down

APPLETON will play in division three of the RSK Cheshire Cricket League next year after finishing bottom of division two.
Ironically they lost their last match against near neighbours Lymm Oughtrington Park who themselves only escaped relegation by a whisker.

Main difference between the two sides in that last match was a fine, unbeaten 100 from Lymm skipper Travis Scholes.
Appleton batted first and were restricted to 143-8, skipper Rory Kellett top scoring with 45.
Mohammed Bhola , 2-18 and James Knowles, 2-15 were Lymm’s most successful bowlers.
Lymm knocked off the runs for the loss of just two wickets thanks to Scholes’ century and an unbeaten 36 from Jake Hughes.
Glazebury finished their season third from bottom of division four.
