A 36-year-old man who carried out at least eight burglaries across Warrington involving theft of cars worth £320,000 has been jailed for a total of four years and three months.

Michael Clandillon from Bootle, Sefton, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court last Friday 27 August having earlier pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary.

Between Friday 4 January 2019 and Sunday 8 March 2019 Clandillon carried out at least eight burglaries across Warrington.
Cars that had a total value of more than £320,000 were stolen from the driveways of six of the homes that were targeted.
During an investigation by Warrington proactive CID detectives, they discovered a range of evidence, including CCTV footage, which put Clandillon at the scene of many of the incidents.
In addition, evidence in relation to a second suspect in the case, who has since passed away, also linked him to the crimes.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable David Gerrard said: “Clandillon initially denied any involvement in the offences and it was only when he got to court and realised the strength of the evidence against him that he finally admitted his guilt.
“I hope our determination to put this man before the courts reassure the public that we take burglary seriously and investigate them tenaciously.
“I hope this sentencing acts as a warning to those thinking of committing crime in Cheshire that with the help of our communities we are a formidable force determined to make our county a no go area for criminals.”
