THIEVES have stolen York stone paving slabs from a Lymm churchyard for a second time!.

The raiders are believed to have struck at around 10.25 last night ( Monday) at St Mary’s Church, Lymm. They have left the drive leading to the church entrance in a dangerous condition.

It is the second time stones have been stolen from the church in just over a year.
The Rector, the Rev Beverley Jameson said: “This is extremely distressing to the parishioners and to the general community. Warrington Borough Council is responsible for repairing the path and has been informed.
“If you have seen anything, please inform Cheshire Police. The incident number is 1053118.”
The Rector added: “Some of our elderly congregation will struggle to get along the path to the church. Funeral directors will have difficulties transporting coffins and my heart goes out to the poor bride trying to walk up the path for her wedding in early September.”
