Drink driver seen swerving on M56 was more than three times the limit

THE driver of a car seen swerving on the M56 near Warrington was found to be more than three times the drink driving limit when stopped by police.

Earlier members of the public had alerted police to the vehicle which had failed to stop after a road traffic collision.



Police eventually managed to stop the vehicle on the M56 Junction 10 near Stretton, Warrington.
The driver provided a positive roadside breath test with a reading of 114 – the legal limit is 35.
The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
Police thanked members of the public for their assistance.
