Police Dog Toro helps police arrest serious assault suspect

POLICE dog Toro was on hand to help officers arrest a suspect following a serious assault in Warrington town centre during the early hours of this morning, which left the victim requiring hospital treatment for head injuries.

Following the serious assault in Warrington Town Centre, PD Toro was deployed to try and locate a suspect. He quickly identified that the male had climbed over a gate and high wall to try and escape.
Officers got back in their car, drove around and found the suspect on the other side who then tried to make off up a side street but was arrested.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 2.20 am on Friday 23 July police were called to Bridge Street in relation to an assault.
“A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries to his head.
“Three men, aged 17, 24 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody for questioning.”
