A drug drive suspect was arrested during the early hours of this morning after a BMW was written off during a collision on the M56 near Lymm, Warrington.
The incident involved a white BMW near junction nine for the Lymm Interchange.
North West Motorway Police said the male driver attempted to leave the scene but was soon located by officers.
He was arrested and taken into custody after failing a roadside drug swipe.
Police posted on social media this morning:
“This was what met us on the M56 just prior to junction nine a short time ago.
“Thankfully nobody was injured.
“The driver was located a short time after trying to leave the scene
“He is now bedded down for the night in custody after failing a drugs wipe.”
