4×4 vehicle abandoned and set on fire in woodland

WITNESSES are being sought after a 4×4 vehicle was abandoned in woodland and set on fire near Warrington.

Shortly after 3pm on Saturday (June 26) firefighters from Lymm were called to reports of a car fire on the A49 Tarporley Road at Higher Whitley near Warrington.
On arrival, the crew found an abandoned 4×4 which was well alight.
One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and anyone with any information is asked to visit www.cheshire.police.uk/ro or call 101 quoting IML 1022827
