Lovely Lane road closures for up to 15 weeks for carriageway repairs

ROAD closures of up to 15 weeks are to be introduced in the Lovely Lane area of Warrington next month (July) while carriageway resurfacing takes place.

The closures will be implemented in the evenings from 7pm to 1am to minimise traffic disruption.



Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will come into force from July 12th on Lovely Lane and adjacent streets for up to 15 weeks.
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: From Lovely Lane for 50 metres along the following lengths of road: Green Street; Selby Street; Percy Street; Delamere Street; Collin Street; St Barnabas Place; Goulden Street; Lexden Street; Monks Street; Radnor Street; Clap Gates Lane; Lovely Lane from A57 Sankey Way to Bewsey Road; Folly Lane from Lovely Lane, Bewsey Road & Lodge Lane for 100 metres; Bewsey Road from Lovely Lane, Folly Lane and Lodge Lane for 100 metres; Lodge Lane from Lovely Lane, Folly Lane and Bewsey Road for 100 metres.
The Order will be effective from 12th July 2021 for 15 weeks between 7pm & 1am, when signed on site. The works are to be undertaken in the following phases: Phase 1: Sankey Way to Delamere Street/Collin Street; Phase 2: Delamere Street/Collin Street to Lexden Street; Phase 3: Lexden Street to Railway Bridge; Phase 4: Railway Bridge to Bewsey Road; Phase 5: Junction at Lovely Lane/Folly Lane/Bewsey Road/Lodge Lane. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative routes are Lovely Lane via Priestley Street, Froghall Lane, Bewsey Road and vice versa; Junction at Lovely Lane, Folly Lane, Bewsey Road & Lodge Lane via Priestley Street, Froghall Lane, Midland Way, Lythgoes Lane, Winwick Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway surfacing.
