Fire crews rescue 15-year-old boy trapped on roof of building

TWO fire crews helped rescue a 15-year-old boy who was trapped on the roof of a building at Thelwall, Warrington.

Two fire engines from Lymm and Stockton Heath attended, along with the Rope Rescue Unit from Lymm shortly after 6pm yesterday, Sunday, following reports of person trapped on the roof of a building on Lymm Road in Thelwall.



On arrival, they found that a 15-year-old boy had climbed onto the roof of the building and was unable to get back down.
Firefighters used an aerial platform cage to reach the boy and bring him down to safety, he was then passed to the care of paramedics to be checked as a precautionary measure.
Firefighters were detained at the scene for around one hour and 15 minutes.
In another incident last night one crew from Birchwood used a water backpack to extinguish a small fire in a metal bin on Grosvenor Grange in Poulton-with-Fearnhead.
The crew was in attendance at the incident for around 15 minutes.
