Reward offered as police launch appeal following terrifying dog attack incident

A reward is being offered and police are appealing for information following a terrifying savage dog attack incident in Warrington earlier this week, which left a toy poodle and its owner both injured.

The incident involved a toy poodle named Connie being “savagely attacked” on Wednesday by a group of 4 pit bulls/large staffies, all light coloured.
Three men all in their mid 20s had all dogs off leads.



Owner Jo, from Appleton, who has reported the incident to police said: It happened on the footpaths between Grappenhall Heys and Wright’s Green, Lumb Brook Road,
Appleton. Our dog was seriously injured and my husband was also bitten and needed hospital treatment and is severely traumatised.
All the men fled the scene.
“My husband believes someone saw and walked on by and we would appeal for any witnesses to come forward. We will offer a large reward for any information.
“We understand there Was a similar incident last week in Grappenhall Heys? They could be linked.
Connie has received stitches for her injuries and is now hopefully on the road to recovery – although Jo and her husband say they will now been too frightened to carry on dog walking in the area.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 12.13pm on Wednesday 7 April police were contacted by a man who reported that he had been attacked by four dogs in Appleton.
“The man stated that he was walking his dog on the footpath linking Lumb Brook Road to Grappenhall Heys, between 9.10am and 9.30am on 7 April, when both he and his dog were attacked by four other dogs.
“The four dogs were described as being light coloured of a Pit Bull or Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed.
“Three men were also present at the time of the incident, they are described as being in their mid-twenties, with Liverpool accents and were wearing caps.
“Both the victim and the dog were injured as a result of the incident and required medical attention.”
