Man arrested following graffiti attack on MP’s office

A man has been arrested following a graffiti attack on the office of Warrington South MP Andy Carter.

Although the Conservative MP wasn’t at his offices on Stafford Road, members of his team were, when a man paint sprayed the building with Extinction Rebellion messages and logos.
Mr Carter said: “I’m very grateful for the speed at which Cheshire Police responded. I wasn’t there at the time but it’s very scary for members of my team who spend their time helping constituents, when someone is hammering on the windows, shouting abuse and spray painting graffiti on the glass.
“It’s completely unacceptable for groups such as Extinction Rebellion to hide behind the guise of protest while committing criminal acts that cause damage and intimidation.
“I’m also hugely grateful to the local residents who turned up to help clean the graffiti away, their kind support is much appreciated.”
