Hunt for arsonists who started fires in nature reserve and woodland

APPEALS have been launched to help trace arsonists who started fires in a nature reserve and woodland in the Woolston and Lingley Green areas of Warrington.

At around 5.30pm yesterday (Friday) firefighters were called to reports of a fire in the open on Manchester Road, Woolston.
On arrival crews eight small seats of fire in a nature reserve area.
Firefighters used water backpacks and beaters to extinguish the fire and were detained for around one hour.
The fires are believed to have been started deliberately and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 931839.
Meanwhile, in another incident Shortly before 10pm last night, firefighters from Penketh were called to reports of a fire off Bembridge Close, Lingley Green.
On arrival, the crew found a small bonfire in a woodland area.
Firefighters used water backpacks to extinguish the fire and were in attendance at the scene for around 40 minutes.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML-932041.
In another incident at 5.40am this morning firefighters were called out to deal with a small rubbish fire on McKee Avenue, Longford.
Mckee Avenue, Warrington.
The crew was in attendance for around 10 minutes.
