WARRINGTON awoke to its first snow of the winter this morning, providing a rare festive look for the town at Christmas.
The fall varied across the borough, with some areas getting only a light dusting and others getting nearly two inches.
Traffic was light and many roads had not been treated so police warned motorists to drive with care.
The Met Office suggested the snow would not last long. Snow fell across much of Cheshire.
Our pictures show a Christmas lights display in Lymm looking particularly seasonal and (below) a Lymm “resident” who had spent the night in the open enjoying breakfast.
Also pictured is seven-year-old Katelyn Pratt enjoying sledging at Appleton, while some youngsters had been up early building a snowman, The Dingle and Appleton and the Bridgewater Canal at Lymm.
