LiveWire’s Leisure and Library sites to close – but online services available

1

FOLLOWING Government guidance announced on Saturday, all of LiveWire’s Leisure and Library sites will be required to close from tomorrow, Thursday, November 5 until further notice.

Subject to government clarification, it is expected that Burtonwood Post Office will remain open but no library offer will be delivered from the site.
Due to the closure of their facilities and services, LiveWire has suspended membership payments – no further payments will be taken until their services are resumed. This includes; fitness, tennis, swim lessons and gymnastics.
Emma Hutchinson, Managing Director of LiveWire, said: “Our doors maybe closing once again but our staff are still here, and ready to do our best to help you and your families keep fit and well – mentally and physically – in the coming weeks.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back through our doors as soon as is possible – and please keep in touch with us via our social media pages in the meantime and consider working out with us remotely via LiveWire@Home.
“As ever, thank you for your patience and support.”
Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for leisure and community, Cllr Tony Higgins, said: “I am, of course, very disappointed that we are having to shut the doors to Leisure Centres and Libraries again – particularly after the huge amount of work put in by so many people to re-open them and make them COVID-secure. However, we know that the safety of the public comes first.
“What I can say with real optimism is that the safety work already carried out will hold us in good stead. We will be ready to quickly get up-and-running once more, when it’s possible to re-open. Our customers are a real community family, who value the services LiveWire provides, and we’re looking forward welcoming them back, as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
Library Service Changes
To mitigate the impact the closure may have on library members the following has been introduced:

All items borrowed will be due for return on 13th January 2021
Any items currently on loan will automatically be renewed until this date
