Carden Happy with Warrington’s Start

Paul Carden cannot contain his happiness when he talks about Warrington’s perfect start. The team has seen a lot of ups and downs in the season and yet they are sitting at the top of the Northern Division. It seems that they are really getting started for a wonderful run this year.

Warrington town has only dropped one game this season, and they have been really looking good down the stretch. The club has won their first three games to start off and definitely had a good spark in their offence, and they have been a hot topic in a football news website.

Holroyd Boosts the Squad

The team has seen coach Paul Carden land a big name in Chris Holroyd. The striker has been a long-time target for them, and the Yellows have been chasing his signature twice before eventually landing him. Carden first lost to Chorley and then Stalybridge Celtic, but later came in contact with him and secured a deal.

‘Even before Chrissy signed for Chorley, we were speaking to him’, Carden said. ‘He stated he wanted to play in the Conference and he signed for Chorley and that was that. When it was apparent they were struggling last season, their manager phoned me up and said they were looking to get people off the wage bill’.

Carden is happy to have Holroyd in his squad as he knows that the striker can make a big impact in the game. After all, Warrington lacked the superior attacking force in most of their games. The coach knew that after all those tough ends to sign the striker, he finally got his chance, and he would not want to waste it.

Perhaps the best thing about the club is that they are actually getting better than ever. The team finished the last season with a 14-13-5 record, and they captured the third spot while conceding the top to South Shields.

‘We spoke to Chris then but he chose Stalybridge – we couldn’t compete with what they were paying him so he chose to go there’, Carden explained his time in chasing the striker. ‘I was disappointed and he knew that’.

Landing a Win in Charlie Munro

The team even landed Charlie Munro this season. Carden thinks that the former man for Ashton Athletic can step up bigger this season as he is set to give the Yellows an extra man in the middle. After all, the 24-year-old proved to be one of the rising stars in his former club and would make a great addition at Cantilever Park.

This time they are making their chances count and are taking everything they can one game at a time, and having quality players is certainly the way to get the job done.

‘I think he will only get better’, the Yellows boss said of Munro. ‘His touch, awareness and ability to create time for himself is something you can’t coach. It’s a natural ability. He knows where to be when the ball comes into him in terms of positional play. His first touch is a pass to himself so the next pass he makes has set himself up for quality. He’s deserved it as he’s come in from a few leagues below’.

Those additions mean a lot for the team, and it might just give them a better chance to win the Northern division this season. They are not holding back now, and everyone in the squad knows that they need to get the job done soon enough.

The team is one of the oldest clubs in the game. It was founded as Stockton Heath in 1949 before eventually adopting their current name in 1961. They are hoping to get up in the next divisions in the football leagues in England, and they might just make it happen.
