WARRINGTON-based professional services provider, Optionis, has donated more than £10,000 to charities supporting NHS staff and volunteers working on the frontline against COVID-19.

Having adapted to remote working during lockdown, the company has donated the cost of their monthly team lunches for staff across the UK to NHS Charities Together Optionis, which specialises in accountancy solutions for freelancers, contractors, and small businesses, made the donation after pledging the cost of monthly team lunches – usually provided by the company to all of its 550 employees – to NHS Charities Together.
It comes after staff at the firm’s 10 offices across the UK, including its Warrington headquarters at Centre Park Square Business Park, were sent to work from home during March in line with social distancing measures.
Rebecca Pedler, director of marketing at Optionis, said: “Once a month, we encourage colleagues across our offices to take time away from their desks and enjoy lunch together, with all food provided by the company. It works out to be £5 per person usually but with all of our employees currently working remotely, we felt it was right to instead donate the money to a worthy cause.
“NHS Charities Together is playing a vital role in supporting the many health workers and volunteers who have been on the frontline during the pandemic, and are working tirelessly to keep us safe at this time. We hope the donation will go a long way in helping those impacted by coronavirus.
“As a company, we’re very proud of our track record of charity work and, when it’s safe for us to get back to the offices, we’ll continue to fundraise in new and exciting ways. Until then, it’s great to still be able to make contributions to worthwhile causes.”
The Optionis Group has previously raised over £10,000 for children’s charities. The firm is also a long-standing partner of the Samaritans, helping to promote mental health awareness by hosting fundraising sessions across all of its’ UK offices.
The group encompasses seven brands including SJD Accountancy, ClearSky Accounting, Parasol, First Freelance, Nixon Williams, ClearSky Business and Brian Alfred.
