Van on fire in field

THREE fire crews were called out last night to tackle a van on fire in a field near Lymm which resulted in one lane of the M56 being closed.

Three fire engines attended, one from Lymm, one from Stockton Heath and one from Trafford around 10.30pm followingo reports of a van being on fire on a field off West Lane in High Legh, near Lymm.
Working from the hard shoulder on the M56, due to the location of the van, the crews extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
The first lane of the motorway was closed as firefighters dealt with the incident.Once the fire was out firefighters damped the van down to make it safe.
They then handed the incident over to the police and Highways England.
Firefighters were in attendance for nearly an hour.
