Wolves Foundation launch 2.6 London Marathon alternative

WARRINGTON Wolves have launched a 2.6 challenge as an alternative to raising funds in the London Marathon which was due to take place this weekend.

Director Neil Kelly was due to run the London Marathon supporting the Mental Health programme Offload but now following the cancellation the London Marathon has set up a Campaign called the 2.6 Challenge in Aid of Saving Our Charities.
The Warrington Wolves Foundation, like so many charities across the UK, has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of their fundraising events due to COVID-19. As a consequence, they expect their fundraising to be reduced by around 50% because of the virus.
Neil said: “We’d really appreciate your help to raise valuable funds for the Warrington Wolves Foundation doing something you enjoy. The 2.6 Challenge, begins on Sunday 26 April on what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon.
“We’re asking you to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to the Warrington Wolves Foundation alongside our amazing 1st team players. We want people to get active, have fun and raise money which we will then use to continue our life-changing work.
“The challenge is open to anyone of any age – the only requirement is that the activity must follow the government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.
“Whatever 2.6 Challenge you do, your support during this time would be most welcome as we continue to help those in need; now more than ever.”
