One more death and 14 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed at Warrington Hospital

ONE more patient has sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, with 14 more people testing positive.

The death toll of patients who have died at Warrington Hospital after testing postive for COVID-19 is now 57, with a total 460 people testing positive.
Across the UK there were another 828 COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospital, taking the death toll to 17,337. The figures do not include deaths in care homes.
The Total number of lab-confirmed UK cases now totals 129,044 with 4,301 new lab-confirmed cases.

During the Governments daily briefing Health Secretary Matt Hancock said there was still “much further to go in the coronavirus fight.”
He says one of his central aims is to ensure NHS capacity if always ahead of need, so there will always be enough beds for those who need them.
He said there are currently 2,963 spare critical care beds across the health service.
He said 535,000 tests had now been carried out of which 129,000 had tested positive.
Hospital patients with COVID-19 is now down to 17,681.
“The latest deaths tells us the deadly nature of this virus. We owe it to those who have passed away to keep up social distancing.”
Meanwhile he added that a UK vaccine project will be trialled in people this week.
He pledged £42.5m going to support clinical trials at Oxford University and Imperial College London.
The Oxford trials will begin on people this Thursday.
