VOLUNTEERS at St Rocco’s Hospice have rallied round to help after a break in at the Longford Street shop overnight last Friday (Jan 17).

Intruders damaged internal doors and a laptop and small empty safe were stolen from the shop.

No cash is left in Hospice shops overnight.

The shop volunteers rallied round and had the shop open again for business on Saturday morning.

Eric Russell, head of Income Generation at the Hospice said: “It’s a shame, but we’re very grateful to all the volunteers who helped us clear up so that we could open again on Saturday.”

Police are investgating.
