Volunteers aim to collect record number of Christmas trees for St Rocco’s

CHRISTMAS trees may only just be going up, but volunteers at Warrington’s St Rocco’s Hospice are already thinking about taking it away!

Last year the team of volunteers removed 2500 Christmas trees from households all over Warrington, raising £34,000 to help St. Rocco’s care for people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses.

And this year, it’s easier than ever to book your tree in for collection – as they’re now taking bookings on their website.

So with high hopes to collect even more trees this year, St Rocco’s needed a crack team of volunteers – and luckily, the businesses of Warrington stepped up!

Taking part this year are Urban Building Projects, Orangeries of Cheshire, NMCN, Warrington Borough Council, Beechwood Industries Ltd, Beesley & Fildes Ltd., Warrington Electrical Supplies, BT Skip Hire, Ensign, SP Energy Networks, VPS, Omega Access North Ltd, Bmech, Sandstone Supplies, HMS, Bagnalls and KD Building Renovations.

Charlotte Howard, Events Fundraiser at St. Rocco’s said: “All companies have kindly agreed to donate their time for Tree Collection 2019 and we’re immensely grateful to all their staff members who will be out all day on Saturday 11th January working hard to collect all the trees.

“Their support, and the support of everyone who donates to have their tree collected, makes a real difference to our patients and families.”

It costs £4.2 million every year to keep St. Rocco’s running and as a local charity, they rely on the generosity of the Warrington community for most of their funding.

Last year the Tree Collection was fully booked, so don’t miss out – get your real tree booked in today for collection on Saturday 11th January.
