Campaigners launch drop-in sessions to help save Raven Inn

VILLAGERS battling to save the historic Raven Inn at Glazebury, Warrington, are now organising special “drop-in” sessions as part of their ongoing campaign.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We are continually looking at different ways to keep everybody updated on what is going on with regard to saving the Raven Inn.

“In addition, our cause can only benefit from a range of diverse views and contributions.

“Following our public meeting in September we have now arranged the first drop-in sessions for Glazebury & Culcheth.

“The idea being that anyone can literally drop-in and talk about the present and the future of the Raven.”

The first drop-in will be outside Sainsbury’s, in Culcheth on Saturday, October 26, between 11am and 1pm.

The next will be in the scout hut in Glazebury on Sunday, December 8 also 11am to 1pm.

The spokesperson added: “The intention is to hold these drop-in’s in both villages on alternate months. Whilst we have to fit in with other bookings for the venues, we intend to continue with the drop-in’s for the foreseeable future. That way they will become self-advertising.

“Not everybody does social media, not everybody has been able to get along to the public meetings. We hope this initiative will provide the opportunity for more people to come along and talk with us.”
