WARRINGTON’S march towards the division two title in the Vivio Cheshire County League continued with a seven wicket victory over Alvanley at Walton Lea.

In a low-scoring game on a rain-affected pitch they dismissed the visitors for a paltry 72, Chai Gadepalli taking 3-7 in 12 overs – nine of which were maidens!
It was a comfortable win – but Warrington must still keep looking over their shoulders at main rivals Lindow, who also won.
Warrington 2nd went down by six wickets at Macclesfield where they were bowled out for 88, Paolo Manfredi top scoring with 29.
Macclesfield cantered to 91-4.
Grappenhall’s dismal season in the premier division continued at Broad Lane, despite an improved batting performance.
After losing both openers without scoring, they fought back through Iain Wright 69, Ben Bodha 45 not out and Albert Pennington, 34 to reach 164-7.
However visitors Chester Boughton Hall made light work of Grappers’ attack and took the game at 165-2.
In the UKFast Cheshire League, went down by four wickets to Ashton-on-Mersey.
Lymm hit a respectable 177-8, Blake Munilla top scoring with 52 and Mark Lucas hitting 32.
Azam Baig bowled well for 3-45, but Ashton reached their target at 180-6.
Appleton earned a draw against Maritime at Lyons Lane after the visitors had declared on 227-2 in a game delayed by rain.
There was more rain after tea and Appleton finished on 106-8, Matthias Paltridge hitting 51.
Appleton 2nd had an afternoon to forget after they went down by 10 wickets at Timperley. Ian Mason scored 48 not out but the visitors could only post 103-7 from their 33 overs after rain reduced the length of the match. Timperley lost no time, or wickets, reaching their target.
It was a disappointing afternoon for Appleton 3rd too as they lost to nine-man Bowdon Vale.
On a damp pitch, Appleton were able to restrict the home side to 125-7 – however their batsman had a poor afternoon – being bowled out for just 75.
Appleton 4th completed a miserable afternoon losing to Glazebury 2nd.
Batting first, Glazebury were able to post 213-4 from their 40 overs. Appleton never looked like overhauling that target and reached 134
Glazebury 1st chalked up a useful win over Mossley at Hurst Lane, batting first and totalling 113, Jordan Carroll 41. Mossley were rolled over for 45.
Stretton hit 156 against Heaton Mersey but then saw their opponents claim victory by six wickets.
