STAFF from a Warrington-based company have raised £1,725 for charity by completing a 15,000 ft sponsored skydive.
Stuart McHale, Josh Hughes, Simon Jones, Tufail Ahmed and Adrice Edgar, who work for Galliford Try Partnerships North West, took the plunge for World Child Cancer.
Mr  McHale, technical manager at the Birchwood-based regeneration specialist, said: “It was an amazing experience – one I’ll never forget!
“It was fantastic to do the skydive alongside my colleagues and we are so grateful to everyone that sponsored us for this important cause.”
Galliford Try Partnerships selected World Child Cancer as its charity of the year for 2018/19. Over the past 12 months employees from across the organisation have been tackling challenges and organising events to raise cash for the charity which supports children with cancer, and their families, in the developing world.
The skydive was the culmination in a UK-wide fundraising campaign for company, which as a group, has raised an impressive £87,000 for World Child Cancer – smashing its original £50,000 target.
Stephen Teagle, chief executive at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “The passion, energy and dedication shown by colleagues has been inspirational. I am extremely proud of everyone who played a vital role in raising almost £90,000 for the charity. It’s a truly outstanding result well beyond our original hopes and expectations.”
For 2019/20, Galliford Try Partnerships has selected mental health charity Mind as its charity of the year and staff at the North West division are already planning their next fundraising challenges.
