Fly-tipping 40 bags of waste cost man £350

A WARRINGTON man has been ordered to pay £350 after pleading guilty to a fly-tipping offence under the Environmental Protection Act.
Ryan Jameson, 28, of Grange Avenue, Latchford, was traced after council officers searched through 40 bags of waste tipped on private land.
He pleaded guilty at Warrington Magistrates Court.
The court was told the borough council received a complaint about 40 bags of waste that had been tipped on private land
They went to the scene and on searching through the material found it originated from James.
He was invited to attend an interview under caution but did not respond.
But when he attended court he pleaded guilty to the offence.
After the hearing, Cllr Judith Guthrie, the council’s cabinet member for environment and public protection, said: “This is another successful conviction of a fly-tipping offence in Warrington.
“Fly-tipping not only blights our environment, but impacts on our communities. Illegally disposing of waste is unacceptable and we will take action against people who fail to dispose of their waste using the proper methods.”

  1. Unbelievable. Do it legally and a mini skip would cost you the best part of £100 so factoring in the chances of getting caught and small fines like this, fly tipping still looks like the best option.
