Here comes the bride – again!

ELIZABETH Mannion-O’Keeffe was devastated when her 93-year-old mother, Jean Mannion, couldn’t attend her wedding due to a long-term illness.
So she and husband Tony decided to take the wedding to her and re-run the whole ceremony – complete with registrar, guests, cake and bridal gown, at the Warrington care village where she is a resident.
Today, 25 guests will arrive at the Belong care village in Loushers Lane for the occasion, where they will watch the happy couple exchange vows beneath an archway festooned with flowers, at the end of a decorated aisle.
Warrington’s deputy superintendent registrar, Lance Goodwin, will perform the wedding ceremony in full, and mum’s carers will act as bridesmaids for the event.
To cap it all, the reception will be held in the Belong village Bistro, with guests treated to a wedding banquet in the form of mum’s favourite meal – fish and chips.
The village community have rallied around to provide both a photographer and videographer to capture the special day again.
Bride Elizabeth, said: “I know there aren’t many people who get married twice in one month, but it’s the least we can do to ensure mum doesn’t miss the big day. We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of everyone at the village – so bring on wedding number two!”
