Approved – four bedroom house in conservation area

BOROUGH planning chiefs have given the go-ahead for a four bedroom house in the garden of an existing house at Lymm.
The development, in Brookfield Road, in the Lymm Conservation Area, was opposed by Lymm Parish Council and there were objections from four nearby residents.
Parish councillors believed the proposal represented over development of the site and that the scheme would have a negative impact on the conservation area.
Neighbours were concerned about drainage arrangements, loss of trees, the access and and loss of wildlife habitats.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee were told that similar proposals had been turned down as long ago as 1980 – and again rejected on appeal. As a result the site had remained undeveloped.
But planning officers did not feel the scheme would have a detrimental on the conservation area.
The proposed house would be within easy walking distance of the village centre.
Overall they felt the scheme was acceptable.
