Travellers descend on International Business Centre

TRAVELLERS have set up an illegal encampment at business premises at Westbrook, Warrington, over night.

A total of five vehicles have parked up at the International Business Centre on Delta Crescent.

An eviction notice has been served by the landlord ordering them to leave the site by Sunday.

The car park was targeted by travellers last year.

Warrington Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Colin Daniels, who is based at the building said:”For the second time in less than 12 months travellers have illegally camped (5 caravans) on the International Business Centre car park.

“The proposals by HM Government to grant new tough powers to the police to crack down on illegal traveller sites on private land including a potential new criminal offence of trespass will make it easier for the police to intervene and remove travellers.

“Yet again we have to go to the expense of a court injunction.”
