Police kept busy on New Year’s Eve by drink related and violent crimes

WARRINGTON Police were kept busy on New Year’s Eve and during the early hours of New Year’s Day with mainly drink related and violent crimes.

The first arrest took place at 21:05 involving male in the Fairfield and Howley area for alleged Threats to Kill.

Then at 22:42 officers arrested a male on Winwick Street after he was alleged to have knocked another male to the floor after a punch to the head.

At 23:40  officers were alarmed to find a female wandering on the Warrington section of the M6 – she was later to be found to be circulated as Wanted for a Recall to Prison.

At 01:50  a male was arrested after he was alleged to have struck a female outside a town centre bar – he was traced in the Cairo street area by officers.

Then 02:15 a male was arrested for alleged Drunk & Disorderly outside a town centre bar.

At 02:20 a male van driver was arrested in the Hulme Street area for an alleged drink driving offence.

Another suspected drink driver was arrested at 02:45 on Old Liverpool Road and the male driver is alleged to have provided a sample of 107 at the roadside – more than three times the limit.

At 03:00  a male was arrested in the Latchford area for an alleged assault that left a male with Grievous Bodily Harm injuries.

Then 02:38 a male was arrested in the Burtonwood and Westbrook area for an alleged Domestic Assault.

At 0335 hours a male was arrested for an alleged Police Assault – it is alleged that the officers approached the male whilst he was arguing with a female and he has then punched the officer.

At 04:50 hours a male was arrested in the Great Sankey area for alleged Drink Driving.

Finally at 06:45 hours a male was arrested for being Drunk & Disorderly on Bold Street in the town centre.

All those arrested started 2019 off in custody.
